McHenry Garden Club provides up to $3,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors who live in McHenry County. Requirements include providing a copy of acceptance letter from selected school, non-official transcript showing at least a GPA of 3.0, 2 letters of recommendation. McHenry County Illinois Genealogical Society is offering a $1,000 scholarship for a student that resides and graduates in McHenry County. The Environmental Defenders of McHenry County offer the Alice & Bill Howenstine Scholarship to high school seniors interested in pursuing college studies related to the fields of environment, sustainability and conservation. The Organization of Latino Actuaries (OLA) is a nonprofit dedicated to increasing Latine representation in the actuarial field by providing scholarships, mentorship, and career-building opportunities. Scholarships are open to all students who will be attending a US college/university next school year and are interested in a math, business, or related field. Winners can receive awards up to $7,500. The Lil Dribblers Basketball Program Scholarship is for a senior that was a Coach in the Lil Dribblers Basketball Program. Requirements include completing the application and an essay. Applications are in the CCRC. Deadline is April 20, 2026

Girls on the Run of Northwest Illinois offers a $1,000 scholarship (with an additional $1,000 if student achieves a GPA of over 3.0 after completing 1st year and continuing with their education. To be eligible, they must have participated in the program during their 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, or 7th grade years (or maybe all!), minimum 3.0 GPA. Details/applications in the CCRC.

Local Lankford Construction wants to help support your future in the construction trades by offering this scholarship for those who will be studying construction management, engineering or will be enrolling in a 2 year technical college for the trades full-time (12+ hours). The Crystal Lake Community Band Memorial Student Scholarship is Awarded to a senior band student from a McHenry Co. school who plans to continue their music experience during their college career. Requires a 5 minute audition recording submitted on flash drive, application and recommendation letter from music instructor. Applications are in the CCRC. Deadline is April 13.

The Northern Illinois High School Journalism Scholarship is for a senior who is an editor, writer, photographer, manager, marketing or advertising rep or graphic designer at a high school newspaper; will attend college as a journalism or communications major with emphasis on print and/or online journalism. This scholarship is to be used for a senior attending a vocational, 2, or 4 year college/university.
