Johnsburg Junior High School has partnered with Safe2Help Illinois to provide students, parents, staff members and any community member a 24/7 helpline (1-844-4-SAFEIL), free mobile app, and dedicated website (www.Safe2Helpil.com) to report any level of safety concern involving Johnsburg Junior High School or Johnsburg Junior High School students.

In the absence of a trusted adult, students can use Safe2Help Illinois to share concerns about themselves or others in a confidential environment with trained professionals. Once vetted, if immediate attention is needed, Safe2Help professionals will contact local mental health resources and/or local law enforcement (depending on the nature of the tip) to assist with severe scenarios and provide “real-time” assistance. The Johnsburg Junior High School Safety Committee is also provided necessary information for follow up support of our JJHS students. Again, this service is a confidential scenario so anyone providing information to this service will not have their name shared with anyone.

It is important to note that this program is not intended to punish, suspend or expel students. Rather, the intent is to encourage students to “seek help before harm,” with the goal of intervening and helping students before they harm themselves or others.
