JHS CARES recently volunteered at Feed My Starving Children . They participated in packing 4 main ingredients that were added to bags very carefully and weighed to a specific amount. Our team of 19 students* and chaperones, Mrs. Elizabeth Behrens and Ms. Erin Widmayer, were team Dominican Republic for relief after Hurricane Melissa. After learning how and where the food goes, the CARES group decided to make a monetary donation of $106 which will help even more children to be fed through this organization Students wanted to return the next week, but settled for returning during the Spring semester to volunteer again.
