On Wednesday, April 23, JHS did a State sendoff for 20+ students to SkillsUSA Illinois in Peoria, Illinois with a drumline march.
SkillsUSA Illinois is the state chapter of the national SkillsUSA organization, which empowers students and professionals to become skilled professionals, leaders, and responsible citizens. They focus on improving the nation's workforce through the development of skills, including personal, workplace, and technical skills.
Congratulations to Lucas Ohlenroth on receiving SkillsUSA Illinois GOLD in Heavy Equipment Operator. He will have the opportunity to travel to Atlanta, GA for the the SkillsUSA National Competition. Also, Congratulations to Jayden Grzeca on receiving SkillsUSA Silver in Power EquipmentTechnology. and to Evan Bate on receiving SkillsUSA Illinois SILVER in Aviation Maintenance Technology.
The Johnsburg High School SkillsUSA Illinois chapter was one of 8 schools to be awarded the prestigious designation of being a GOLD level Chapter of Distinction!! This award demonstrates the hard work of the students, advisors, and chapter to demonstrate the SkillsUSA framework. Congratulations to everyone!!
