Board Commendations April 14, 2015

Emma Johnson and Joey Dehn – Girls and Boys State Winners – Kevin Shelton asked the Board to join with him in commending High School juniors Emma Johnson and Joey Dehn for being selected by the JHS faculty as this year’s Girls and Boys State Winners. He praised both students and highlighted the exceptional qualities for which they were chosen. The Board congratulated Emma and Joey and Board President Tom Low presented them with a certificate and District water bottle.

New Student Enrollment and Registration Information

On behalf of the faculty and staff of Johnsburg School District 12, welcome to our educational community!  As you prepare to enroll your child(ren) in the school district, there are several steps that will need to be completed.  Depending on your individual situation, and the age of your child(ren), the enrollment and registration process might look slightly different.

Special Education Parent Boot Camp

Lake County Center for Independent Living and Johnsburg School District 12 are pleased to present Special Education Parent Boot Camp.  This half-day event will be help on Saturday, April 11, 2015 from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Ringwood School Primary Center.  The event is free for parents and providers in McHenry and Lake Counties and will offer a keynote address, and several breakout workshop sessions including:

Board Commendations March 10, 2015

Mareike Western – McHenry County Spelling Bee Champion – Melanie Gravel introduced new McHenry County Spelling Bee Champion Mareike Western to the Board and highlighted the process and previous competitions that led to her success in the county event. Melanie praised Mareike for her exceptional efforts and noted that Mareike had also earned an all-expense paid trip to Washington D.C. in May to compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee. Nancy Hurckes noted that the Junior High School held a congratulatory celebration for Mareike in the cafeteria after her big win.

Board Commendations February 24, 2015

JCB and JJHS Spelling Bee Winners – Melanie Gravel highlighted the process that she and Eric Dohrmann used to restructure the District’s spelling bee with the goal of providing students the opportunity to compete in the McHenry County 2015 Spelling Bee Program.
